01 / OUR BEGINNINGS
EVERY GREAT STORY HAS A BEGINNING

From humble roots,
a lasting legacy.

Risidale Primary School was established in 1967 on what had once been a vegetable farm owned by the Risi brothers — a name that lives on in the school’s identity.

In those early days, a small patch of mowed grass and a handful of prefabricated classrooms stood in the open veld. There were no paved walkways or sports fields, but there was already a spirit of excitement and possibility.

More than five decades later, that pioneering spirit continues to shape the school.

03 / SYMBOLS & SPIRIT
THE LEGACY OF OUR FIRST PRINCIPAL

A symbol of quiet strength.

Risidale’s first principal, Miss Jane Fraser, had a particular love for birds. Her passion inspired the choice of the heron as the central image on the school badge.

Graceful and dignified, the heron remains a symbol of calm strength and determination — a meaningful reminder of the values woven into the school’s earliest years.

Our buildings have changed, but our sense of belonging, tradition and pride remains.
